MODELS AND TATTOOS: EXPRESSIONS THROUGH DESIGN ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES
The design project introduce basic understanding of the design principles, processes and approaches in generating ideas, developing design and translating terminologies and language. Therefore,
exploring all forms and techniques that shows creativity, identity and explained with rigor through models and tattoo stamps.
SHAPE+IMAGERY
This idea was inspired by the ants nest circulation. As lights shines through, the overlapping shapes creates shadows that looks like water reflections.
MASS+CONTRAST
Cuboid carved out with smaller circles creates contrast between the mass and the circled voids.
LINES+RHYTHM
The design was built with different thickness of lines to create flowy rhythms.
MATERIAL+VARIETY
Variety of style is created using one material only. This design was constructed by Balsa sticks and thin boards
TEXTURE+PATTERN
Hexagons were arranged like honeycomb patterns. The different heights of the hexagons arranged helps create texture.
SPACE+EMPHASIS
The irregular size of the grey cut outs was stacked to create spaces in between. The balsa cut out was placed in the middle for emphasis.
